Welcome to Cross Roads 3-D Fetal Ultrasound.

We are located as part of CR+ Cross Roads Clinics in central Vancouver. 3-D Fetal Imaging is just one of the many services available at our clinic, one of BC's largest multidisciplinary Heath and Wellness Clinics.

Seeing your unborn child in 3-D is a unique and wonderful experience! 3-D fetal ultrasound allows us to capture these precious memories in real-time (hence the 4-D). Photos are captured on CD and a DVD video is recorded for you. A large LCD screen assists with viewing. Gender assessment is included if you choose.

About 3-D Fetal Ultrasound:

Medical research studies over the last 50 years have confirmed that ultrasound has not been shown to cause any harm to mother or baby. Routine scanning of all pregnancies is now standard throughout the world. With 3-D scanning, exactly the same type and intensity of ultrasound is used as with conventional 2-D scanning. Both 2-D and 3-D ultrasound utilizes sound waves to look inside the body. Computer software converts the images to a 3-D image. 3-D ultrasound only provides non-diagnostic images of your unborn child and do not replace your standard ultrasound imaging as arranged by your physician or midwife.

Images are obtained between 20-34 weeks of pregnancy. Prior to 24 weeks gestation, your baby is so small that the entire body will appear on the screen, however, the details will be less clear. Images taken beyond 28 weeks most closely resemble the eventual look of your baby. Ideally, the best images are obtained between 24-32 weeks of gestation. Image quality varies from scan to scan depending on many factors including fetal size and position, location of the placenta, quantity of amniotic fluid around the baby and maternal body habitus. For these reasons, the quality of images cannot be guaranteed. Gender assessment is an optional feature and will not be disclosed to you without your request.

2. Gender assessment only - 10 min and two 3-D photos for $75.*
